Tips for Maintaining Your Go Bag
It’s a good idea to always have a Go Bag ready during hurricane season, but be sure to review what’s in your bag at least annually. Some additional tips include:
Store in sturdy, easy-to-carry containers (backpacks or duffle bags)
Keep in an accessible location (near your front door)
Check expiration dates and replace items regularly (especially food, water, medications)
Consider seasonal needs (extra warm clothes in winter)
Store items in waterproof plastic totes either in or near your vehicle
Preparing for the worst well in advance of any impending hurricane can go a long way to making evacuations faster, easier, and safer for your entire family.
