Bright Harbor services are sometimes made available to you through a program sponsored by a government agency or another organization (a “Sponsor”), for example, a state-administered disaster assistance program. When you use our services through a sponsored program: The information you submit is collected and processed on behalf of the Sponsor, and our agreement with the Sponsor governs how that information is owned, used, shared, retained, and deleted. Where that agreement differs from this Privacy Policy, the Sponsor agreement controls.
Your application and case information are shared with the Sponsor and its authorized staff to administer the program, and may be shared with other agencies where the program requires it, for example to prevent duplication of benefits. Requests to access, correct, or delete information submitted through a sponsored program may be subject to the Sponsor’s direction and applicable records laws, and we may route those requests to the Sponsor.

We do not represent you in any capacity. Outside of a sponsored program, we do not share your personal information with your insurance company, FEMA, or any other government agency without your permission. If you apply for assistance through a sponsored program, your application and case information are shared with the administering agency as described in Sponsored Programs above.
However, we may be required to disclose certain personal information if compelled to do so by law, such as through a valid subpoena, court order, or government investigation. In such cases, we will limit the disclosure to what is legally necessary.
